COMMUNITY
At WDG we believe community involvement is essential to a successful practice. We encourage our staff to attend and stay involved in a number of professional and community development organizations. Several members of our staff hold leadership positions in both local and national professional organizations such as the local AIA chapter, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the Louisiana State Selection Board, the Louisiana chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), and the New Orleans Architecture Foundation (NOAF).
professional Development
WDG supports and encourages professional development in our office. All of our architectural and engineering staff are either licensed or on the path to licensure. We strongly believe that the key to cultivating a robust professional practice lies in incorporating professional development programs into the fold of our studio. Senior architects and engineers work side by side with junior staff to ensure the passing of knowledge and the fulfillment of professional experience requirements while maintaining high quality production standards. Several of our staff are Architect Licensing Advisers with NCARB.
culture
Company culture is the foundation of good business. Here at WDG we encourage teamwork while striving for innovative design solutions and fostering positive, productive, and intelligent discourse among the staff and with our clients. Our employees regularly gather outside the office for professional and networking events like Mardi Gras festivities, the annual AIA bowling and golf tournaments, and other social events and celebrations like our office crawfish boil and holiday parties.
volunteerism
The WDG team is committed to serving our neighbors and creating a brighter future for our community. The office regularly organizes group volunteer efforts and outings. In addition to volunteering as a group, many individual team members participate in and even help run community engagement and volunteer organizations outside the office.
You’ll find our employees serving up beer at the annual NOLA on Tap festival benefitting the LASPCA, leading relief efforts following natural disasters, working to expand the city recycling program, and volunteering with ACE mentoring local youth interested in the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering.
